Shami Stovall
FLSCON is thrilled to welcome Shami Stovall as a featured guest. Shami is a multi-award-winning author of fantasy and science fiction whose imaginative worlds have captivated readers worldwide. Before becoming a full-time author, she earned a BA in History from Stanislaus State and a Juris Doctorate from the Laurence Drivon School of Law, later teaching history and criminal law at the college level. Born in Utah, raised in California, and now residing in Kansas, Shami draws inspiration from her lifelong love of storytelling, video games, and mythical creatures—passions that shine through in beloved series like the Frith Chronicles, which fans often describe as “Harry Potter meets PokĂ©mon.”
Shami’s journey as a reader began with Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O’Dell, a novel that sparked her imagination as a child and left a lasting impression. As an adult, Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert A. Heinlein became her favorite, with the character Jubal Harshaw representing the person she most aspires to be. Whether she’s crafting epic adventures, running Dungeons & Dragons campaigns, or connecting with fans online, Shami brings infectious enthusiasm and a deep love of genre fiction to everything she does. We’re honored to have her join us at FLSCON.
