Robert E. Hampson

By day, Robert is a professor at Wake Forest School of Medicine, studying how our brains encode memory. By night, he writes military, adventure, and hard-science science fiction — plus nonfiction articles that make science accessible to everyday readers.

Robert’s SF career took off with short fiction published in 2015, and he now has three collaborative novels in the Four Horsemen Universe (Seventh Seal Press) and two solo novels, including one from Baen Books. He’s co-edited two anthologies and published more than 25 works of short fiction.

His scientific research focuses on how drugs, disease, and injury affect human memory, working toward a medical device that could one day restore memory function. He’s a teacher, researcher, reviewer, scientific journal editor, and consultant.
