Hey FLSCON Family,
Dave Butler is a friend of the con and the author of the Witchy War trilogy. The Witchy War is a critically-acclaimed and award-winning epic fantasy series set in an early nineteenth century magical America, originally published by Baen Books.
It’s about talented hexer Sarah Calhoun, who learns that she is the secret daughter of the immured empress Mad Hannah Penn and the murdered elf king of Cahokia, Kyres Elytharias, and sets out to rescue her lost siblings and recover her family’s wealth and power. All that stands in her way are the Necromancer Oliver Cromwell and the vengeful god of the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers, the Heron King.
Dave recently received back the rights and he just launched a Kickstarter project to put the books back into print, his way. He has completely new covers designed to communicate that the books are epic historical fantasy. The books contain song lyrics, and this edition will contain links so the reader can listen to recorded versions of all the songs. He also has plans to get a big, glorious, new map done, and there is terrific new swag: T-shirts, polos, caps, mugs, etc.
