Old Dominion Daleks

Leading the invasion of Earth all the way from Yorktown, VA, meet Bumpy and Zappy — the stars of Old Dominion Daleks! What started as a 60% scale costume for their 8-year-old daughter grew into a full fleet after a challenge from Mom: “You built a scale one — can you build a full-size one for me?”

Bumpy MK I (60% scale) was eventually outgrown, as was Bumpy MK II (75% scale). Now Bumpy MK III (90% scale) is under construction! Bumpy MK I has already taken home Best in Show at Shore Leave 36, and the fleet has made appearances alongside Doctor Who alums Terry Molloy (Davros) and Sophie Aldred (Ace), plus stops at conventions like MarsCon and FantaSci. Their builds have drawn press coverage from The Virginian-Pilot and WVEC, and their construction techniques were even featured in Cheralyn Lambeth’s book on character costuming for cosplayers.
