J.R. Holmes

J.F. Holmes is a retired Army Senior Non-commissioned Officer with 22 years of service in the Regular Army and Army National Guard — from artillery section leader to Division-level planning staff, with tours in Cuba and Iraq, and he responded to the 9/11 attacks in NYC. From 2010 to 2014, he turned that experience into laughs with “Power Point Ranger,” his hit military cartoon strip in the tradition of Beetle Bailey and Willie & Joe.

His books span Military Sci-Fi, Space Opera, Detective fiction, and Fantasy, with two 2017 Dragon Award finalist works to his name. In 2018 he launched Cannon Publishing, championing military science fiction, fantasy, and thrillers from up-and-coming authors.
